Aussie Curves- Polka Dots

This weeks challenge is the polka dot! You may have noticed already but I love polka dots I wear them nearly everyday so the only hard decision for this weeks challenge was which outfit should I wear?

I considered leaving this dress for yellow challenge later on but I wanted to show something a little different than just black and white or red and white polka dots.

This was a very experimental dress I made when first learning to sew I have to wear a cardigan with it as I bunged up the back a little, but it still makes a cute outfit even if I do look a little like snow white.

What I wore-
Dress- home made
Cardi- City Chic
Shoes- Diana Ferrari
Pearls- Gifted
Broach- Diva
Sunnies- Can't remember (cheap)

If your interested in seeing other ways in which I style polka dots check out these posts here and here and there :)

  1. What a gorgeous dress! I love the colour and style. You did a great job sewing that one together...regardless of what the back may look like.

  2. The outfit you have put together is lovely. You and Jeanie have lovely black flats, that is the next item on my to buy list. In the meantime I have to wear my very old ones, oh well I guess I may be lucky and get them before I wear the outfit. Your outfit is in keeping with spring racing and all those other events that are going on.

    1. Thank you Linda! Black flats are a recent thing for me, they have been a long time dream as I have gigantic feet! size 12-13. When I do find a pair that fit they are usually priced in the $100+ region and I defiantly cannot afford that. Found these on my last trip to brisbane during a massive sale 75% discounted, slightly small but stretched because they are leather. Ive never been to the spring races, when I lived in Melbourne I was tempted but just too many people hehe.

    1. Thanks Natalie! I did have a red flower broach to begin with but was beginning to think it might be overkill hehe. The sunnies were a cheap internet find under $10! Thanks again!

  5. I love, love this. The colours are my all time favourite {not even wearing them every day as part of my primary school uniform could kill that} and they suit you beautifully. Somehow I think I'm going to need a lot more practice before I sew myself something as fab as this dress! Haha. LOTS MORE.
